Today I am thankful for...
~perfect sunny days with just a hint of Autumn in the air. After the hot dry days of July and early August, the garden has made a comeback in these slightly cooler temps. We are eating fresh pole beans every other night, I have tomatoes and peppers for salsa and easy roasted tomato and garlic soup, and the squash and pumpkins are growing like crazy. The second crop of red raspberries are forming on newly pruned vines and I never pass by without seeing at least one bumblebee making the rounds. Late last week I sowed red clover seeds under the berries to provide ground cover and break up the clay soil and the tiny seeds are already sprouting.
The cattle panel loaded with pie pumpkin and longneck squash vines.
The raspberry bed and herb garden. Carrots are slowly growing under the protection of plastic netting and the empty places are awaiting garlic.
