As we were driving to the farm to get our milk last night, we heard the weather report. 2-5" of snow overnight. The little babe woke up from her half sleep in the back of the car, "Snow, did they really say snow?!" Yep, that's what they said. And they were right. Just about 4 inches and powder soft. Not enough for us to ski, but enough for the little babe and the dogs to get excited. Snow really brings an old Corgi back to life.
And gingerbread cookies make a little babe warm and happy.
The big recycling truck got stuck on the hill right in front of our house this morning. Big excitement. I'm sure those guys were cursing - the truck was empty; they hadn't even started their route yet. After backing up and giving it another go, they pulled out the blocks and started putting on the chains. Eyeing up the container of fresh cookies, I asked my husband what he thought. He pulled on shoes and went out with two little men for the two big cold men and instructions to tell them that his wife thought maybe this would help a shitty start to the day. Yeah, sugar doesn't help everything, but maybe the spicy cookies helped warm them a little.
