Spicy warm chai, snowflakes falling from the sky.
Ski tracks on the grass, a bright blur slushing past.
Unexpected winter weather, sharing popcorn inside together.
We had an unexpected wet snowstorm on Tuesday. As the little babe was leading her horse out of the riding ring, she paused as she looked outside. Wow, yes it actually was snow! Big, wet, slushy flakes that hit the mud and made more mud, but still, it was snow. When we got home, she immediately needed to go outside to ski. She actually is getting pretty stable and should be able to join us on short skis in the woods this year. (If we get any real snow.) Last night we had a hard frost, the first of the season, and the chicken water bowls were iced over. Right now the sun is pouring through the window onto the kitchen table and the little babe declared that it would be a good day for a hike. I agree.
The icy dill looked beautiful in the garden. Regina - look at all of those garlic chive seeds - I am set for next year! And can you believe that I still have red raspberries?! I picked half a bowlful yesterday in the snow.
